American Airlines Announces New Daily Nonstop Service From New York to Dublin

Jun 26, 2013 11:40 AM EDT

American Airlines has launched a new daily, nonstop service between New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) and Dublin Airport (DUB), according to a press release from American Airlines.

The new route gives passengers traveling from Dublin nonstop connections out of JFK to cities throughout North, Central and South America. The new flight is an addition to the existing nonstop service that American has from Chicago O'Hare International Airport (ORD) to Dublin and is a complementary route to the airline's 12 other daily nonstop flights from JFK to Europe. The route will be operated with a two-class Boeing 757-200 that has 181 seats.

The new service is part of an American Airlines joint business agreement with British Airways. Both companies are oneworld members. The route will connect travelers to more than 125 cities throughout Europe. It also provides American's passengers access to many destinations worldwide through nonstop service from Dublin on British Airways and Iberia, to the carriers respective hubs in London and Madrid.

"Thanks to our joint business with British Airways and Iberia, this new service connects American's customers to a wealth of travel options throughout Europe," Tim Ahern, the Vice President of American Airlines for New York and International. "Adding this route enhances our expanding global network out of JFK and further establishes American's commitment to providing our customers in New York with seamless, one-stop connections to major business and leisure destinations in Europe."

American is offering AAdvantage members up to 20,000 bonus miles every time they fly round trip on the route, including travel on American-operated flights marketed by British Airways or Iberia, in celebration of the new service.  Customers flying on Business Class and select Economy Class fares will receive 20,000 AAdvantage bonus miles for every round trip, and those flying on all other Economy Class fares will receive 10,000 AAdvantage bonus miles for every round trip. The promotion began June 12 and will run through September 15, 2013.
