Android 7.0 Nougat Update For 'Samsung Galaxy Note 5' Spotted In Turkey, Europe; Other Markets Will Get Update Soon

Mar 23, 2017 04:00 AM EDT

The Android 7.0 Nougat is finally coming to "Samsung Galaxy Note 5." It was first spotted in Turkey, but recent updates confirm that Europe has started getting it, too. The upgrade is coming specifically to model number N920C.

Neowin reported that this update is a little behind schedule. Samsung Turkey published a roadmap last month showing that the "Note 5" should have received it last week. However, reports say that the delay is because of the same quality review that delayed the "Galaxy S6" rollout, and so plans for the "Note 5" and other Samsung devices have been impacted.

Since the update already hit Turkey and now European markets, it's highly likely that other markets will follow suit. To check if your phone is ready to be updated to Android 7.0 Nougat, just go to your phone settings. This update weighs in 1.3 GB approximately.

Because of this update, it is expected that the Nougat-based UI of the "Note 5" has been finalized, and a wider rollout should follow shortly. For users in the US, Canada, and Australia, expect your Nougat update in the coming weeks.

This Nougat update may excite a lot of users, however, GottaBeMobile said that you may refrain from updating your phone just yet before you make your research. The update is expected to improve your security because it has the biometric feature. It also has the Blue light filter, and Marshallow issues are fixed, too. On top of that, a feature called Device Maintenance gives users helpful shortcuts to enhance your phone's performance.

But there are a lot of users out there who use an important app for work, and a Nougat update might break the service. Also, there are a lot of complaints about the Nougat update draining battery life quickly. Again, it's important to do a research first, and see what other "Note 5" users think about the Nougat update.
