Scuba Suit iPhone Case Lets Users Take Underwater Photos &Videos [VIDEO]

Oct 03, 2012 11:46 AM EDT

The iPhone can go swimming! The Scuba Suit is an advanced, unique iPhone case that lets users take their  Apple device underwater to take pictures.

Dropping an iPhone in water can be the end of the pricey Apple device, but a new case called the Scuba Suit, or the driSuit Endurance, essentially makes the iPhone waterproof and allows users to take underwater photos and even video.

For those who go on vacations that involve pools, hot tubs, water parks, snowy mountains or snorkeling adventures, the Scuba Suit may be the perfect accessory for iPhone users. The waterproof case protects the phone from water damage at depths up to 15 feet. It is currently available for the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4s models.

The case, which is factory tested, does not allow one drop of water to touch the actual phone. It creates a liquid airtight barrier which protects the device from water damage.

The Scuba Suit has a touch-sensitive gel screen, which makes taking photos easier and it does not interfere with the quality of photos as the underwater photos are as clear as pictures taken on land with the iPhone.

The case even comes with a waterproof headphone jack, so if you have waterproof headphones, you can listen to music underwater. The case must be removed to charge the phone.

The case measures at 5" x 3" x .8" and adds half an inch of thickness to the iPhone.

The Scuba Suit can be purchased at Photojojo.com for $60. Shipping is free.

This isn't the first iPhone case that supposedly lets users take photos underwater. Lifeproof also makes waterproof cases, but reviews show that the case screen is difficult to use, unlike Scuba Suit's touch-sensitive gel screen. However Lifeproof makes cases for iPads as well and even the new iPhone 5.
