'The Walking Dead' Comes to Life

Nov 26, 2015 03:40 PM EST

The Walking Dead fans will be delighted to know that their favorite AMC zombie TV show is coming to life through a ride in a United States theme park.

The big news was recently unveiled during the International Amusement Parks and Attraction's Expo 2015 in Orlando by Sally Corp., a company that specialises in dark rides for theme parks. The ride will be called 'The Walking Dead: Battle for Survival.'

Based on the comic book series written by Robert Kirkman, this gritty drama portrays life in the weeks and months following a zombie apocalypse. Led by police officer Rick Grimes, his family and a group of other survivors find themselves constantly on the move in search of a safe and secure home. This zombie drama is followed by die hard fans worldwide.

The ride will feature the walkers, the characters and even reprise fan-favorite moments of the series in the last six seasons. The attraction's main storyline will turn the riders into survivors of a zombie apocalypse where they have to collect supplies and fend off walkers. Just like in the TV show, you fail, the walker zombie eats you, you succeed, you get to live another day.

'Photo-realistic 3D media on massive projection screens is blended seamlessly with fully realised practical sets, scenery and animatronics in this unique attraction. Story and game play are balanced perfectly to create a scary, fun and exciting adventure for all theme park visitors,' Sally Corp. announced in their blog

The ride will be more intense than the usual scary rides and is definitely not for all ages but will be less extreme than the television show, designer Rich Hill claimed.

Other Sally Corp. concepts include Justice League Dark Series, Scooby Doo's Haunted Mansion, Ghost Blasters, Reese's Xtreme Cup Challenge, Zombie Apocalypse and Zombie Paradise among others.
