American Idol Talent Katharine McPhee Files for Divorce From Her Husband of Six Years Whom She Cheated on with Michael Morris[VIDEO]

Marriage is said to be a lifetime commitment to a partner, however, it may have turned out differently with singer Katharine McPhee and her husband as she filed for divorce.

The "American Idol" finalist is about to become a single lady as she decided to end her marriage from Nick Cokas. Katharine McPhee, 30 reportedly makes it official as she files for a divorce from her husband of six years. It is not yet revealed why and how the couple reached with such decision.

Though the couple did not really state what seems to be their problem that they really ended their six years of marriage, there are speculations that the Katharine McPhee might have cheated from her husband. Last year, the singer was photographed kissing her "Smash" director Michael Morris who also happened to be married to actress Mary McCormack. However, it was also reported that the singer and Cokas already separated when the photo was taken.

The photo showed that Morris walked the singer with holding hands to her car. They were then seen sharing a kiss just before they part ways. With Morris' wedding ring still on, the cheating is quite public which was actually taken in a parking lot in Los Angeles

McPhee's publicist was the one who confirmed in People that the singer has filed for the dissolution of her marriage from the stage producer. Although Katharine McPhee already filed for divorce from her husband, her rep also emphasized "the two have an amicable relationship and will remain friends". They are also asking for a respect of their privacy.

Before coming up with a decision of divorce, TMZ reported that Katharine McPhee and her husband tried to reconcile earlier this spring. They were even spotted together last March with their dogs and they reportedly look happy. However, they still decided to split.
