A 32-year-old man from Hyderabad, India, faked a terror plot so that he could avoid taking out his date on a vacation. The man is reportedly cheating on his wife with a woman from Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

Motaparthi Vamshi Krishna, a married man with a child, met his date online. The woman, whom he's having an affair with, asked to go on a vacation to Goa and Mumbai. However, Krishna didn't want to go so he devised a plan to get out from the situation that he's in.

According to Metro, he sent a hoax email using a new email address and told the authorities that there was a hijacking plot in several cities in India. In the email, Krishna pretended to be a woman who got information of a hijacking plot after overhearing a group of six men at a hotel restaurant planning for their attacks.

Travel & Leisure reported that the purpose of the email was to scare off his mistress so that the trip would be canceled, however, it did more than just that. His fake email triggered security officials to be on high alert which caused airports in Hyderabad, Mumbai and Chennai to implement strict security measures.

Local police tracked down Krishna's location with his IP address. He was arrested at his home in Miyapur and was penalized for violating section 182 of the Indian penal code. The code states that it is unlawful for someone to provide false information to a public servant for the purpose of having them act in their power to cause injury to another person.

Authorities said that Krishna faked the plot so that he wouldn't have to tell his girlfriend that he didn't have the money for the vacation. It would've hurt his ego and could possibly end his relationship with the girl. He thought that if the email would cause the flight to get canceled, he wouldn't be at fault.
