Sylvester Stallone is one of the latest stars to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe by playing Starhawk in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" and he said it was interesting for him to do the film. Director James Gunn said he have more future plans for the "Rambo" actor.

According to a report from ScreenRant, Stallone said in a recent press conference that it was "interesting" for him to be part of the MCU because it's something he hasn't done yet. He said he is "Earth-bound," he is "terrestrial."

"This is something that takes place in a whole other sphere where James and the Marvel people have created their own world, their own reality," he said. He adds visiting the MCU, knowing where the "future is going" is a great experience for him.

Stallone also said that he had been fascinated with mythology early in his career, like Joseph Campbell's "Hero with a Thousand Faces." He considers Marvel as this generation, and probably even "the next generation's," hero mythology.

The report said that Stallone appears to be content to just be part of the MCU, even in a supporting role. But it looks like "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" director Gunn had more plans for the "Rocky."

ComicBook reports that Gunn is planning to see more of Stallone in the movies. He adds that it doesn't mean Stallone will be appearing in "Vol. 3," but that's what their planning to happen.

He adds that he and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige are working on what's going to become of the Marvel Cosmic Universe and where it will be headed in the future. The report said that what Gunn is planning lines up with the current trajectory of the franchise.

Gunn hinted before that the current lineup of the team will change in "Vol. 3" and this could mean a more significant role for Stallone. Stallone even expects to return to the MCU so things are already in place for this to happen. In the meantime, check out the trailer for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2," which is scheduled for a May 5 premiere.
