Fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of "The Wind of Winter," the sixth novel in the epic series "A Song of Fire and Ice," and it looks like it might be released sometime in June. Reports are also saying that "American Gods" author Neil Gaiman is completing the book.

According to a report from Celebeat, fans believe that it will take George R.R. Martin some time to complete the novel, given that the author has been preoccupied with different projects. The project he is most preoccupied on is the studio film that Martin wants to launch immediately, which could boost the film economy of his hometown Sta. Fe, New Mexico.

The report said sources are saying Martin is just finishing some charity work and will focus mainly on completing the novel. This has some expert believing that Martin will be able to finish "The Winds of Winter" by June, in time before "Game of Thrones" season 7 premieres, which is scheduled for July 16, 2017.

"The Winds of Winter" is said to conclude the cliffhangers that came from the novel "A Dance with Dragons." There are also reports coming in that Gaiman is actually the author who will finish the novel instead of Martin.

"The Sandman" series author has been spotted several times in Martin's hometown of New Mexico. This gave rise to speculations that Gaiman is helping Martin finish "The Winds of Winter." The report also said that some are speculating that Gaiman is possibly Martin's editor for the novel. All of these are just speculation at this point, considering that neither Martin or Gaiman made such an announcement.

But it's understandable why there have been a lot of speculation for "The Winds of Winter," since a lot of people have already been waiting for its release. HBO didn't even wait for it to finish and moved on with the "Game of Thrones" series.

According to Blasting News, the book might be finished already because of the activities of Martin Twitter. It appears that he already have time for other things like his pet tortoise and his newly launched StageCoach Foundation for young and skillfull filmmaker. Hopefully, Martin indeed comes out with "The Winds of Winter" this year, but only time will tell.
