Though the last news that came from George R.R. Martin about "The Winds of Winter" book is that it will be delayed, there are speculations that it is already in the proofreading phase. Martin's recent activities and new projects have somehow hinted that he has already finished writing the book.

According to a report from Celebeat, Martin said recently that the book will be released on a date that is later than its original schedule. It was even revealed that "Game of Thrones" season 7 would premiere first before "The Winds of Winter" is released.

Reports were attributing the delay to Martin's many commitments and busy schedule. Some even saying that its possible for season 8 to air first as well before the author could even come out with "The Winds of Winter."

But the report said that Martin's busy schedule and many commitments could actually be a sign that the author has already finished writing the book and has submitted it for proofreading. The author currently has time to dedicate his attention to a foundation for young TV and Movie producers, which could indicate he no longer needs to allot time in finishing the book.

Korea Portal reported that rumours are saying Martin has already submitted the first draft of "The Winds of Winter" to Neil Gaiman, who is said to help the author finish it. Gaiman was spotted several times in New Mexico, where Martin is running his foundation, hinting that the two author could be working together.

These reports, though, are still speculation at this point, considering that neither Martin nor Gaiman has confirmed nor denied any of these rumours. It would be nice to know if "The Winds of Winter" is indeed in the proofreading phase already, as it could mean the book will likely launch after "Game of Thrones" season 7 premieres. For now, check out the trailer for season 7, which is scheduled for a July premiere.
