It looks like Microsoft will only be announcing the Windows 10 Creators Update on April as the "Surface Book 2" and the "Surface Pro 5" are likely to be delayed with their rumoured spring reveal. The reason for the "Surface Pro's" delay is the availability of the Intel Kaby Lake.

According to a report from Mary Jo Foley of ZDNet, her contacts are saying that the "Surface Book 2" will not be announced during Microsoft's Spring 2017 event. It's also likely that the "Surface Pro 5" won't make its debut as well.

Microsoft didn't release new versions of the "Surface Book" and the "Surface Pro" in 2016, making it more than a year since a new model was released. The "Surface Book" and the "Surface Pro 4" were both released in October 2015.

Foley said that the reason for the delay is that the devices are not yet ready to be unveiled in April. Droid Report said that one of the main reasons for the delay is the availability of the main component of the device.

The report said that the Intel Kaby Lake's availability has been the main cause of delay for the "Surface Pro 5." But reports said that the chipsets are already in transit, so it will only be a matter of time before Microsoft will be ready to unveil its new Surface models.

It is also said that aside from the Intel Kaby Lake, Microsoft doesn't really have many reasons to delay the launch of its 2-in-1 hybrid device. Of course, without any announcement or confirmation from Microsoft themselves, it's really hard to say.

The only thing certain as of the moment is that Microsoft is expected to start rolling out the Windows 10 Creators Update on April 11. If the company plans on launching the "Surface Pro 5" and the "Surface Book 2," an announcement will likely be made soon. Check out more information about the "Surface Pro 5" in the video below.
