It looks like the Microsoft "Surface Book 2" will be launching either by the end of the March or by next month as it entered mass production. The new device will also be a regular laptop but will be cheaper than its predecessors.

According to DigiTimes, sources told them that the "Surface Book 2" had already entered mass production and Microsoft is expecting shipments to rise each month. The new device will also be just a regular laptop, adopting a clamshell design, instead of the usual 2-in-1 hybrid device.

But the good news is that the Microsoft "Surface Book 2" is expected to be priced lower than its predecessors. The report said that the current price for the "Surface Book" core i5 128GB model is at $1299, while the new model is expected to be priced at around $1,000.

The expected price for the "Surface Book 2" is much lower than the $1,499 to $3,199 range of its predecessor. Sources are saying that the reason for the price drop was due to the limited demand of the current "Surface Book" because of its high price level.

The "Surface Book's" 2-in-1 hybrid design also created conflict with the Microsoft "Surface Pro." The source estimated that Microsoft only shipped 500,000 "Surface Books" in 2016 because of these two factors.

The Verge reported that back in October, the "Surface Book" was refreshed to provide better graphics support and an improved battery life. But for the Microsoft "Surface Book 2," people are expecting a "more radical redesign" from the company especially since Porsche Design has just revealed the "Book One," which could act as a replacement for the "Surface Book."

With the "Surface Book 2" expected to launch either at the end of March or in April, people won't have to wait that long to see what Microsoft has in store. Check out more news about the Microsoft "Surface Book 2" in the video below.
