Apple has recently announced new updates to their existing products, but what's missing is an update about the "iMac 2017." Now it's rumored to be announced during the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2017 in June and will feature a lighter and slimmer design.

According to Science World Report, the likely period for Apple to announce its latest iMac is during the WWDC 2017. The conference will be held from June 5 to June 9 at San Jose, California.

There are other reports, though, speculating that Apple could still unveil the "iMac 2017" next month. But with the lack of any credible information about the device's release date, it's hard to be certain at this point.

Furthermore, Apple has been really quiet about its iMac lineup, even the specs that have been coming out are mostly rumors and speculations. But that doesn't mean that Apple has forgotten about its desktop lineup.

Last year, Tech Crunch said that Apple CEO Tim Cook assured its employees that they are still committed to the desktop and that they have plans to develop and launch great desktops soon. As to when that would be is still anyone's guess, as no further updates about Apple's desktop were given after that.

As for the expected specs of the "iMac 2017," it is rumored that the device will be sporting a 5K Retina display, an OLED Touch Bar, a lighter and slimmer design, a Touch ID, and USB Type-C Thunderbolts 3 ports. Apple's latest computer is also expected to be equipped with AMD's Polaris 10 for its graphics and it will be powered by the Intel Kaby Lake.

But Macworld is reporting that there's a possibility that Apple will be using the latest AMD Ryzen processor chip series for the "iMac 2017." But it will likely be used for the cheaper models of the iMac, considering that the AMD Ryzen is more affordable than the Intel Kaby Lake.

Hopefully, Apple will be providing more information about the "iMac 2017" in the coming weeks or months. Check out the wishlist that some people are requesting for the latest iMac to have.
