The "iPad Mini 5" is rumored to be thinner, will have a base internal storage of 32GB, will be powered by the A9 processor, and more. Though there are rumors that the device is being phased out, Apple has yet to confirm this or make an official announcement about it.

According to a report from Macworld, the latest iPad Mini model will likely be thinner at just 5mm and be made with the 7000-series aluminum. The chassis was used in the "iPhone 6" and "iPhone 6 Plus" and will make the "iPad Mini 5" more durable and prevent it from bending.

The report adds that Apple's latest iPad Mini device is rumored to have a base internal storage of 32GB, considering that Apple is banishing the 16GB devices and a smaller battery. The performance of this device, though, would still be able to match the "iPad Mini 4's" performance due to superior battery technology despite its lower capacity.

The Science Times reports that the "iPad Mini 5" is also expected to be powered by the A9 processor and M9 motion co-processor. The "iPad Mini 4" was using the A8 and M8 processors. As for the camera, an 8MP is expected for the rear while a 1.2MP for the front.

The iOS 10 is also expected to be pre-installed on the latest iPad Mini, which would add a few more features and a slight tweak on the device's interface design. As for the price, the "iPad Mini 5's" 32GB unit is expected to be £379 or about $468.

However, the "iPad Mini 5" or "iPad Mini Pro," is not even certain to be part of Apple's plans, especially after considering the leaked information about the devices that are scheduled to be announced. It was leaked that Apple will be announcing a 12.9-inch successor to the iPad Pro, 10-10.5-inch "high-end" model and the 9.7-inch model, which would be considered as the budget option.

With Apple expected to make an announcement by the late March, people will soon find out the fate of the "iPad Mini 5." Check out more information regarding the iPad Mini's latest model.
