There's one thing that almost every hotel guest is guilty of doing: stealing hotel items. Intentional or not, a lot of people would always sneak in some hotel items into their luggage--here's a list of some of them.

Towels. These are easily rolled and tucked even into small bags. It's also hard to keep track of how many towels guests use especially during long stays so there's a high probability that the staff wouldn't know if the towels were stolen.

Cushions. According to Traveler Tips, cushions are highly-sought for most especially in popular hotel chains. Most guests would steal it as a keepsake or for personal use at home.

Hotel Soaps. It's so small that you can fit a few in your pockets which is why it's one of the most common items stolen in hotels. Most guests also steal it for future use during their travels.

Remote Batteries / Remote Control. Maybe some guests need batteries for their own remote controls back at home that's why these items get stolen a lot. However, some people take it to the next level and steal the remote control itself. It's quite a useless thing to do because you're not going to make use of it unless you have the same TV set.

Hotel Decorations/ Art Stuff. According to Travoline, most rooms are designed with artistic decorations which are very tempting items to steal. These items would be vases, paintings and lamps.

Tea Bags, Hot Chocolate Packs and Other Beverages. If you're checking out, why not get something to drink right? Most hotels would usually charge for the drinks found in the fridge and guests find that annoying so they steal these small items thinking that they deserve it since they're paying good money.

Now, you need to admit that you've at least stolen one item once while staying at a hotel. Not all of these are necessarily illegal--soaps and teas are fine, but take note that the bigger ones must stay in the room.
