A small diner in Central France has never been so busy since it got a Michelin Star. But there's a twist because the restaurant was mistakenly awarded since it had the same name of the restaurant that was supposed to get the coveted award.

According to The Guardian
, Guide Michelin France awarded Bouche à Oreille, which means "Word of Mouth," an accidental star in its 2017 publication last Thursday. The mistake almost took a week for it to be corrected and given to the right restaurant.

Veronique Jacquet, who runs the accidental-Michelin-starred diner, expressed that they were fully-packed because there wasn't enough space to cater the flocking customers. The four waiters were also worked off since the mistake happened. Regular customers would pay £10 (about US $12) for homemade dishes like the beef bourguignon.

A lot of gourmet diners were also calling Jacquet's restaurant to book reservations. It gained a lot of popularity that the media also paid a visit, but to their surprise, found a roadside diner with red and white polka dot tablecloths.

The incident happened because there's a restaurant with the same name at Boutervilliers, Essonne and coincidentally also at Route de la Chapelle. The other Bouche à Oreille is located 180 km north that offers lobster flan and calf's brain.

But according to The Connexion, the accident wasn't a reason for customers to stop coming to the small diner. Jacquet told Franc Bleu radio, "I will continue to do as before. The spirit here is that the door is always open to everyone. We make good food quickly, home-made, buffet à volonté, plat du jour, dessert."

The error was admitted by Chef Aymeric Dreux who said that the incident was a "little boo-boo." One of Jacquet's cook, Penelope Salmon, was also asked if it's also her dream to get a Michelin star but apparently, she said no.
