Japan takes the lead when it comes to impressive light festivals and displays that happens in the holidays until spring. The Nabano No Sato is the biggest event of all with 8 million LED light displays. Learn why Japan's Annual Light Festival is a must-see.

It is annually hosted by the Nagashima Hot Spring Resort in Mie prefecture. According to CNN, it takes four months of construction with thousands of workers teaming up to set it up from the foundation to the actual structure. It uses up an area of 26,400 square meters with 30 meters height and 155 meters wide. This year's theme is "the beauty of mother nature." 

This Winter Illumination Event will exhibit five diverse views from different countries including Monument Valley of the United States, Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia, Japanese rice terraces and Antarctica.

There would be two main tunnels made by lights, fabrics and music. It would be represented by the color of momiji leaves composed of green,red and orange hues. The festival on May 7 would have an estimated number of 2 million visitors.  

Aside from that, Nagashima also houses Japan's largest amusement parks. According to Nagashima Onsen, the amusement park comprises a water park, hot spring complex , flower park and even outlet shopping malls.  It's also well-known for its seasonal flowers that is an equally anticipated festival which showcases Hydrangea, Tulips, Roses and Daffodils.
