Nintendo is close to launching its new console the Nintendo Switch, and though it looks great and promising, not everyone will like it. It also won't be supporting a lot of multimedia functions, like Netflix, when it launches.

Ben Gilbert of Business Insider shared his hands on experience using Nintendo's latest console and overall he enjoyed using the Switch. But it's a console that he doesn't recommend for everyone.

"It's still a $300 investment for the system itself, before buying any games or extra gamepads," he said. "That could be a hard sell if you already own an Xbox One or a PlayStation 4."

Gilbert said the Nintendo offers a traditional option for a controller, for people who are having a hard time using one side of the already smaller Joy-Con when they play with other people. They just have to shell out $70 for it.

He also adds that the games that are available when the console launches are "a little skimpy." "Mario Kart 8," though will be available on April 28, while "Splatoon 2" is scheduled to launch during the summer.

Other possible games that will be available for the Switch are "Metroid" and "Mother 3." The possibility of these games coming to the console comes from Reggie Fils-Aime, the president of Nintendo of America.

For people who are thinking that the Nintendo Switch can already replace their iPad's or tablets, Gilbert said it won't as the console is a dedicated gaming machine. Kit Ellis of Nintendo told him that the Switch won't be supporting many multimedia functions when it launches, so watching Netflix on the console's tablet won't be supported.

Game Spot, though, feels that it's possible for the Switch to have a Netflix app in the future. They mentioned that the Wii U and the 3DS have their own Netflix app, so the new console will likely have its own later down the line.
