The Nintendo Switch Presentation wasn't all too crowded with games that fans will lose their heads about and the absence of one of its strongest IP, "Metroid," is somewhat concerning. However, fans may still hope for an eventual release sooner or later.

Gamespot was able to throw the question at Nintendo of America president, Reggie Fils-Aime, though he was pretty assertive with what the question will be about. A lot of people have always asked when Nintendo plans on bringing particular IPs on its modern consoles and in this case, "Mother 3."

Fils-Aime mentioned about being asked regarding a "Mother 3" release, but it surprised fans when he mentioned another highly anticipated title, which was "Metroid." He made some statements regarding the possibility of bringing the games into the Switch or elsewhere in the company's repertoire of platforms.

"Look, again, I am proud as an executive with Nintendo to say that we look at all of the boards and all of the comments and we really have a good understanding of what our consumers want. And believe me, we take that to heart as we work to create content," he said.

However, he still said about not having to announce anything just yet, though he mentioned about the company being aware of the fans' everlasting yearning for certain first-party titles to be released on their modern consoles. Fils-Aime said that it may take about a year to cook up something and everybody can take it from there.

IGN also reported about Nintendo, making an announcement back at E3 2015 regarding another "Metroid" not happening again unless a new console comes up. Following this, the creator of "Metroid Prime" did say something about wanting to create another entry in the series, though no dates were given.

As for "Mother 3," rumors about getting a virtual console release for the Wii U started surfacing last year. This was just about the same time before the game's 10th anniversary.
