Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly is currently filming a new movie about "Sherlock Holmes." The executives of the show just announced the inclusion of two legendary actors, Ralph Fiennes and Hugh Laurie.

The movie will be comedic take on the acclaimed fictional detective. Will Ferrell will play the role of Sherlock Holmes with John C. Reilly will play his dearest friend John Watson.

Ferrell and Reilly have worked together in films like 2006's Talladega Nights and 2008's Stepbrothers. John Watson was supposed to be played by comedic actor Sacha Baron but he decided to pull out, The Sun reported.

Now, the cast will be joined by "Harry Potter" actor Ralph Fiennes and "House" actor Hugh Laurie. They will be playing two unnamed well-known "Sherlock Holmes" characters.

Cinema Blend reported that one of them might play the role of Mycroft Holmes, Sherlock Holmes' older brother who is more intelligent but less active than him. The site speculates that Ralph Fiennes might be the one to play this character.

They also hypothesize that Hugh Laurie might play the role of Prof. James Moriarty. The site also throw in other speculations of what Fiennes and Laurie's characters might be.

One of them might play Sebastian Moran, Moriarty's second-in-command and an assassin. They might also play lesser known characters like Gregson and Bradstreet. Ralph Fiennes and Hugh Laurie will join actors Kelly McDonald, Rebecca Hall and Rob Brydon in this comedy.

Sherlock Holmes has been a literary figure for the last 120 years. Aside from Will Ferrel's movie, there has been a lot of adaptations of the film like "Sherlock," "Elementary," "Sherlock Holmes and "Sherlock Holmes: Games of Shadows."

However, the probably most well-known adaptation of the fictional detective to date is Benedict Cumberbatch's "Sherlock," that Travelers Today reported has already launched its 4th season this year. The unnamed "Sherlock Holmes" movie will hit theaters in 2018.
