One of the tech giants' Chief Executive publicly released a statement that their smart wearable just had its best sales week ever. Apple CEO Tim Cook updated the tech world with exclusive news on their Apple Watch high sales this week advising that the wearable seems to be one of the most famous holiday gift this year.

"Sales growth is off the charts. In fact, during the first week of holiday shopping, our sell-through of Apple Watch was greater than any week in the product's history. And as we expected, we're on track for the best quarter ever for Apple Watch," said Tim Cook to Reuters as reported by The Verge.

In addition to this, Apple CEO's public comments has been remarkably vital especially that it was announced after the technology research firm IDC unveiled the status of the device's third quarter sales. The IDC published report conveyed that Apple Watch sales last quarter were down 71 percent from a year-ago; thus making the latter's statement seems to be in contrast with Cook. However, the downward trend on the sales figures percentage is purportedly not surprising in view that Apple released the new Series 2 line at around end of July-September.

According to reports by Fortune, tech analyst conveyed that Apple Watch is expected to be given as holiday presents instead of Apple's other line of product like iPhone or Mac Book, especially with the lowered price of the device which makes it more attractive to buyers. The wearable is categorized by the tech giant under "other products" alongside with further minor lines like iPods and the Apple TV.

The Verge report also suggests that despite Cook's announcement on the device's outstanding sales this quarter, the Cupertino-based company has yet to provide detailed sales data to validate the public comments regarding Apple Watch's sales made from last year to this year. Tim Cook did not reply yet to requested specific sales figures for the said device.  However, with the absence of this definite figures, it would be tough to verify and establish the total success of Apple Watch.
