The Brooklyn Nets badly needed a win and they got it in a double overtime thriller against the Los Angeles Clippers. The Nets snapped their seven-game losing streak to improve to 5-12 for the season while the Clippers have lost three straight games.

One of the game highlights involved All-Star point guard Chris Paul giving fake CPR to Paul Pierce after the veteran missed a wide open breakaway dunk. It was all laughs at this point of the game, but things got heated later on as head coach Doc Rivers was tossed out of the game after arguing with official Ken Mauer. He had to be restrained by some of his players and assistants as he looked to make a bee-line towards the referee.

Pierce started in at forward in place of Blake Griffin who sat out the game to rest. According to a report by the Los Angeles Times, the decision to rest Griffin wasn't even his idea. The Clippers had the momentum for a good portion of the game and had even built an 18-point lead with only two minutes left in the third, only to choke it away in the end. Rivers expressed disappointment in his team as he felt that they were being too lax and were not showing the other team respect.

"We were walking around like we done something and that bothers me because we've done nothing," Rivers said. Chris Paul had a triple-double for Los Angeles Clippers with 26 points, 13 assists, and 10 rebounds. Deandre Jordan also had a pretty huge night for the LA Clippers finishing with 21 points and 23 rebounds in a losing effort.

Brook Lopez had 27 points for the Brooklyn Nets, but their best player of the night was journeyman Sean Kilpatrick who racked up 38 points and 14 rebounds. He was only 3-for-14 heading into the fourth quarter but got hot as the game went on and secured the win for his team by converting a three-point play opportunity with only 13.9 seconds remaining in the second overtime.

The Brooklyn Nets are still missing point guard Jeremy Lin, who has been out since November 2nd after suffering a strained hamstring. According to a report by SB Nation, Lin has yet to participate in practice with the team and there is still no timetable for his return.
