Whether it is a way to get over a hangover or you just want to spend some time with friends, brunch is always a great option in the city of Sydney. Check out these five spots to get some tasty breakkie in the Australia hotspot.

1. Jekyll and Hyde (Brunch:Saturday and Sunday, 8:30am-2pm)

Located on Victoria Street, Jekyll and Hyde serves food with flavors from around the world. They serve everything from traditional eggs to ocean trout salad. The best part though may be the drinks. Try the "Warm Both Ways" with Chartreuse, Ivorian cocoa hot chocolate, and dollop cream or the mango daiquiri with lime and mango.

2. Pinbone (Brunch: Sunday, 8am-3:30pm)

Myffy Rigby, from Time Out, said, "there's a serious emphasis on fun here, with a backbone of solid cooking." Pinbone is a great place to come if you want a relaxing atmosphere with little judgement. For brunch, Pinbone serves tarts, croque, and even steak sandwiches. The menu is simple and easy for everyone. You can even have eggs, American style.

3. Ruby's Diner (Breakfast served Monday-Sunday, 7am-4pm. Lunch starts at 11:30am)

Sitting on the corner of Taylor Road and Bronte Street in Waverly is Ruby's Diner which actually serves breakfast all day. You can start getting lunch at 11:30am, but the choice is yours after that. Whether you want brioche french toast or buckweat and silverbeet pila, make sure to order coffee on the side made by a single origin coffee roaster. Also, majority of the entrees are made with local products and are ecologically responsible.

4. Three Williams Cafe (Breakfast served Monday-Sunday, 7am-4pm, Lunch starts at 11:30pm)

With a tag line of "Est. For Urban Dwellers, Est. For the Lazy Dads, Est. for the Hangover," how can you not like it? Located just a mile south of the city center, Three Willams Cafe is a great hangout spot for brunch. Try the corn fritters with bacon, nuremberg sausage, roasted potato, salsa, and sour cream or the banana, medjool date or a walnut praline smoothie.

5. Copo Cafe and Diner (Brunch: Saturday and Sunday, 8am-3pm)

Located just behind Victoria Street, Copo Cafe and Diner serves a variety of dishes with a great perk, BYOB. You are able to bring your own bottle of wine to enjoy for a small fee, while eating breakfast or lunch. Why not have South American style baked beans with chorizo and bacon on toast  or Turkish baked eggs with minced lamb, mint yogurt, and nuts.
