Sylwia Rajchel Selfie - A 23-year-old Polish tourist named Sylwia Rajchel died after attempting to take a selfie balancing on the ledge of "Puente de Triana" bridge in Seville, Spain. She reportedly lost her balance during the selfie attempt, causing her to slip and die from injuries sustained from the fall.

The height of the fall from Sylwia Rajchel's selfie attempt was reportedly 15ft. Rajchel was on holiday at the time of the selfie.

The bridge from which Sylwia Rajche's selfie accident occurred is an extremely popular place for photographs, reports the Inquisitr.

According to the New York Daily News, Sylwia Rajche's selfie accident occurred just after midnight. She sustained injuries that led to her death.

Rajchel is a nursing student from the University of Medicine in Posada, Lublin in southern Poland.

Authorities say the brunette beauty did not die immediately after the fall. However, she reportedly went into cardiac arrest. Emergency crews were able to revive her but as they got her to the Hospital of Traumatology, they were told her condition was "grave."

She died shortly after being taken to the hospital, according to Metro.

"Going to Spain was a dream come true for my daughter," Rajche's 44-year-old mother, Bernadeta, told MailOnline after Sylwia Rajche's selfie incident.

"She had taught herself the language and was hoping to work there in the future after finishing her studies. She was a beautiful, smiling girl who had her whole life ahead of her," added Rajche's mother.

"It's hard to believe what's happened, that I will never see Sylvia again. That I won't hug her and will never be able to tell her how much I love her and how proud I was of her. It breaks my heart, I feel this is nightmare that is not happening," she said, understandably devastated.

Opposing Views reported that officials in the area are investigating Sylwia Rajche's selfie accident. They said they will do their utmost best to make the city safer for tourists and people there in general.

Authorities are now urging the public to maintain caution when taking selfies. They added that tourists should be mindful of their surroundings at all times.

A spokesman for the city called the Sylwia Rajche selfie incident "tragic." He said officials are now looking into ways of making the area of the river where Rajche fell, safer. "We are looking to make that stretch of boulevard along the river safer," he said.

The Triana Bridge, from which Sylwia Rajche's selfie accident happened, was built in the 19th century. It is surrounded by bars, restaurants and clubs, making it a popular area for tourists.

The Sylwia Rajche selfie accident isn't the only selfie to have caused a death this year. The Inquisitr reported over the summer of a mom and a dad dying after falling 260 feet off of a cliff in Portugal. They fell after they tried to take a selfie near the cliff. The Polish couple's two children, aged five and six, witnessed the horrific incident.
