Dubai climate controlled city, flabbergasting at it may sound, is apparently true and pushing through. Probably the most ambitious mall plan in the world to date, Dubai climate controlled city will essentially be the world's largest mall and indoor park.

According to the AFP, Dubai climate controlled city will amazingly feature hotels, health resorts and even theatres.

The developer of Dubai climate controlled city, Dubai Holding, made the big announcement that it plans to build the Dubai climate controlled city. The massive mall and indoor park will look like a massive climate-controlled "pedestrian city" which Dubai Holding calls the Mall of the World.

According to the announcement by the company, Dubai climate controlled city mall can be host to more than 180 million visitors in just a year.

According to the IBTimes, Dubai Holding is "a global investment holding company that develops and manages an extensive portfolio of companies focused on hospitality, specialized business parks, real estate, telecommunications, investments, and financial services." The company is owned by Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum.

Despite already being home to one of the world's largest indoor shopping compounds, Dubai Mall, known for extravagant projects, has announced its intentions of building its "Mall of the World."

Dubai climate controlled city will reportedly occupy 48 million square feet in total and "will comprise the largest indoor theme park in the world" under a glass dome which can be opened during winter. Dubai Holding's statement added that the mall's seven-kilometer promenades which connect facilities, will be covered and air-conditioned during summer.

What's more, Dubai climate controlled city will remarkably be connected via tram system, to take visitors up and around its largest indoor family theme park, 100 hotel buildings and event district which can host up to 15,000 visitors.

For those who want to stay a little longer inside the Mall of the World and do not want to break their fitness regimen, Dubai climate controlled city will also feature a wellness district. Apart from health facilities such as clinics and outpatient surgery, also available are cosmetics facilities where individuals can get cosmetic surgery and spa treatments.

According to Dubai Holding, the Mall of the World complex will also feature a cultural district for those in want of a different kind of entertainment. The cultural district inside Dubai climate controlled city will feature a cultural district just like the city of New York with theaters based on NYC's Brodway and London's West End, not to mention streets and shopping districts based on Spain's la Rambla, Oxford Street and Rodeo Drive.

In Sheikh Mohammed's statement on Dubai climate controlled city, he said that 'The growth in family and retail tourism underpins the need to enhance Dubai's tourism infrastructure as soon as possible. This project complements our plans to transform Dubai into a cultural, tourist and economic hub for the two billion people living in the region around us; and we are determined to achieve our vision.'

He added, 'Our ambitions are higher than having seasonal tourism. Tourism is key driver of our economy and we aim to make the UAE an attractive destination all year long. This is why we will start working on providing pleasant temperature-controlled environments during the summer months.'

To address tourist accommodation inside Dubai climate controlled city, the Mall of the World press release said tourists can stay a week in the complex without the need to use a car or leave for any reason. The press release added that ground level parking can hold 50,000 vehicles to cater to people who also want to go to business and conference centers throughout the Mall of the World complex.

The statement on the plans for Dubai climate controlled city released Saturday however did not specify when construction would begin. There was also no word as to the cost of the project. According to AFP, Dubai is hoping that the "Mall of the World, when finished, can attract more than 180 million visitors a year.
