Passports Are Now Much Harder To Get For US Citizens Who Have Unpaid Taxes
Over 362,000 Americans with more than $51,000 in tax debts will be denied renewed or new passport under a 2015 law. The law only goes for applications, and not revoking passports from people with outstanding debt.
