Studies vary, but most demonstrate that aircraft carriers are imposing bearers of the common cold. The Wall Street Journal cited a study that discovered an expanded danger of catching the cold by as high as 20 percent, while another study in the Journal of Environmental Health Research found that colds may more than 100 times more prone to be transmitted on a plane than during typical daily life on the ground.
