Posed as student, that's what a 31-year-old amazingly pulled off for over a year at Texas High School. The grown woman posed as student, and a 15-year-old at that.

According to NY Daily News, the grown woman who posed as student is Charity Johnson. She had reportedly been attending classes at New Life Christian School in Longview since October. That is, until her guardian became suspicious of the 10th-grader's real identity.

KLTV reported that the adult woman who posed as student has now been arrested. Police said she was faced with charges for posing as a Texas high school student after spending almost an entire year enrolled as a sophomore.

NBC News reports that the grown woman who posed as student was caught Sunday when her adoptive family became suspicious of her real identity.

According to the police, Johnson was using the name Charite Stevens as she began going to the high school. She reportedly did this after she posed as an orphaned 15-year-old in order to find a place to live in.

Tamica Lincoln, Johnson's guardian, told KLTV, "I sympathized with her and invited her into my home. I took her in as a child, did her hair, got her clothes and shoes." Johnson said that she was abused by her biological father who also passed away when her mother died, added Lincoln.

Lincoln has reportedly maintained relationships with the teachers of the woman who posed as student. She said that when she became curious of the "young girl's" identity, she immediately called police.

Investigators were able to find out soon enough that Johnson used a fake name and birthday in order to enroll at the school. According to NY Daily, Lincoln said Johnson even used a bogus Facebook account to blend in.

Authorities said Johnson was held at Gregg County Jail in lieu of $500 bond after she was arraigned on several charges which included giving false, fictitious information. Meanwhile, school officials told the news station they would be sending a notice about the arrest to parents on Thursday.

Lincoln said that teachers and students at the school were surprised when they heard that Johnson posed as student. She said, "Teachers were crying and students were crying, and her best friend just couldn't believe it."

Posed as student, it is still unclear why Johnson made the lie to Lincoln and the school. Lincoln said, "I just don't know why she did it. Why put yourself and others at risk to do something like this?"
