Darren McFadden is dead. At least that's what the Internet is saying. However the Oakland Raiders running back didn't die. He's just the victim of an Internet death hoax.

Rumors started swirling that the football star died in a car crash. A report by Global Associated News reads, "Pro football player Darren Mcfadden is confirmed to have died in a single vehicle car accident. One other male passenger in the 2012 BMW driven by Darren Mcfadden has been transported to a local Oakland hospital and is reported to be in serious condition.

A spokesperson for the Oakland highway safety authority (HSA) indicated that wet road conditions are the likely cause of the accident. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to have played any part in this accident.

Team spokespersons could not be reached for comment at this time."

Since the accident takes place in Oakland and there are many details, the report may seem convincing. However the report is fake. A note at the bottom of the site reads, "FAKE... THIS STORY IS 100% FAKE! this is an entertainment website, and this is a totally fake article based on zero truth and is a complete work of fiction for entertainment purposes! this story was dynamically generated using a generic 'template' and is not factual. Any reference to specific individuals has been 100% fabricated by web site visitors who have created fake stories by entering a name into a blank 'non-specific' template for the purpose of entertainment."

Darren McFadden is just fine. He even tweeted on the night that the rumors of his death were going around. However fans asked him to address the death report. Some examples of those tweets include:

"@dmcfadden20 hey McFadden tweet something so we know your are okay, this link says you died https://darren.mcfadden.mediafetcher.com/news/top_stories/football_automobile_fatality?location=Oakland ..."

"@dmcfadden20 Tweet so we know everything is cool, Report says Darren McFadden died in a car crash!"

Don't worry fans, McFadden is alive and well.
