The Rock aka Dwayne Johnson is dead. At least that's what the Internet is saying. However the famous wrestler and actor didn't die. He's just the victim of an Internet death hoax. Johnson is just fine.

Rumors started spreading around the Internet that The Rock died after falling off a cliff. A report by Global Associated News reads, "Actor Dwayne Johnson died while filming a movie in New Zealand early this morning - April 4, 2014. Preliminary reports from New Zealand Police officials indicate that the actor fell more than 60 feet to his death on the Kauri Cliffs while on-set. Specific details are not yet available. The accident occurred at approximately 4:30 a.m. (UTC/GMT +12)."

The report is false. Global Associated News creates fake news reports from a generator. A note on the bottom of the site reads, "FAKE... THIS STORY IS 100% FAKE! this is an entertainment website, and this is a totally fake article based on zero truth and is a complete work of fiction for entertainment purposes! this story was dynamically generated using a generic 'template' and is not factual. Any reference to specific individuals has been 100% fabricated by web site visitors who have created fake stories by entering a name into a blank 'non-specific' template for the purpose of entertainment."

Another report says The Rock died while filming a dangerous stunt for Fast & Furious 7, which is also false. This hoax contains a video that asks users to share it on Facebook. It it likely spam or may contain a virus, so don't click it.

The Rock is just fine. He's currently filming Fast & Furious 7 and a move called San Andreas. He just finished starring as Hercules in a film by the same name.
Even though the report is false, not everyone realized that. Some fans took to Twitter to question and mourn the death of the actor. Some examples of tweets include:

"Dwayne Johnson really died?"

"@TheRock saw a hoax on fb saying you died filming F&F7. Say it ain't so!! Much
love!!"

"Apparently there's a rumor that Dwayne Johnson died....?"
