Hercules trailer starring Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has just been released. The new Hercules trailer, which featured the 'Most Electrifying Man in Sports Entertainment' in his masculine glory, is the latest promotion of the 'Hercules' movie set to show in theatres this year. The upcoming movie 'Hercules' has been in the works. Johnson has been teasing excited fans of the demigod for months now with tweets from the set.

This is the first Hercules trailer for the big-budget summer movie. As expected, it featured the hero fighting off beasts and working strength, and of course muscles, to defeat his enemies.

The new Hercules trailer is everything one would expect from a movie featuring a demi-god. The Hercules trailer is a spoiler-free look at what audiences will see, the protagonist battling all types of villains in epic ways and amongst a mythical background.

However, starring the most underrated pro-wrestler-turned-actor in history, will the movie be able to bring in the big bucks?

The 'Hercules' movie will be in competition with Walt Disney's 'Captain America: The Winter Soldier' and Paramount's 'Noah' for the year's summer films. It opens on July 25, clashing right between 'Jupiter Ascending' and 'Guardians of the Galaxy'. The film reportedly cost $110 million and will be released in 3D.

There are doubts as to its success, but one thing's for sure, the new Hercules trailer, signals a new Dwayne Johnson film franchise right there. Johnson has a track record for joining established franchises and giving them a box office boost. These include Universal's 'Fast and Furious' films, Warner Brothers' 'Journey 2: The Mysterious Island' which reportedly earned $335m worldwide out of a $79m budget, and Paramount's 'G.I. Joe Retaliation' raking in $375m off a $130m budget.

But it's not all rainbows and butterflies for Johnson's movie career. He starred in 'The Rundown' which earned only $80m from an $85m budget. Other films he's starred in haven't received much good reviews as well.

Dwayne Johnson is definitely a "star" in the fame sense and the fact that he adds value to any film he's in.

But for now, the question still stands whether the Hercules trailer will prove that the movie itself will bring in the big bucks from Johnson's performance.

Hercules trailer promotes the 'Hercules' movie which opens from Paramount on July 25th. As for the answer to the question above, we'll see.
