Viola Ribbonleg finally pleads guilty for drowning baby Lexi Ribbonleg in homebrew.

Little Lexi Ribbonleg is a 10-month-old baby who allegedly drowned in a batch of homebre. During that time, her mother Viola Ribbonleg had been seen earlier drinking alcohol and sleeping soundly near her in their mobile home in a remote side of the northern Alberta community.

The baby was found head down in a crate with legs sticking up in the air inside a fermented potato-yeast concoction.

The news of Baby Lexi Ribbonleg's death broke out last spring near Fox Lake emerged publicly for the first time in court this week.

According to The Canadian Press, baby Lexi's 12-year-old found her that fateful day in May after the boy came home from school.

The current turn of events had Viola Ribbonleg pleading guilty Tuesday with a charge of criminal negligence causing death for failing to provide adequate child care. The 32-year-old mother final decision is set on July 15 at the Fort Vermilion court.

According to court reports, baby Lexi's brother heard that saw their mother and another male drinking brew in their trailer on May 28 at night. The next morning proceeded with Viola Ribbonleg drinking again. The young boy believed his mom to be drunk as she asked him to babysit in the afternoon.

The boy went home that afternoon and since the door was locked, climbed through a window and found Viola Ribbonleg sleeping on the floor, while two other men on a living room couch.

He found a drowned Baby Lexi Ribbonleg in a brew and pulled her out, after which woke his mother up.

According to court documents, Viola Ribbonleg got upset for drowning baby Lexi and tried to wake the infant by telling her "I love you."

Paramedics eventually reached the scene, tried to revive baby Lexi but to no avail. Viola also tried to breast feed the dead child.

The child was confirmed drowned according to the document. The brew is reportedly made with a mix of water, rolled oats, sugar, potatoes and yeast.

Meanwhile, Viola Ribbonleg's lawyer, Michael Nanooch, refused to comment about the guilty plea of his client on drowning baby Lexi.
