Switzerland has started hiring Chinese ski instructors in a bid to make the slopes more tempting to Chinese tourists.

The Swiss Tourist Office have even invited some Chinese delgates to come and spend four months skiing down the slopes of some of its most famous ski resorts including St Moritz and Verbier.  Once the delegates have finished their holiday, the Swiss Tourist Board plan to ask them about potential improvements for their Chinese customers.  The Tourist Office believe that the Chinese market is a lucrative one and that Chinese people tend to take longer holidays in the alps, take more pictures and spend more money.

In order to improve relations further, the Swiss Tourist Office has employed Chinese ski instructors to improve relations with its customers and get them to stay a little while longer and enjoy the sights of Switzerland.  It is estimated that five million Chinese people from a total of 1.3 billion love to ski and take holidays in the Alps, but the Swiss Tourist Board believe that China is a huge untapped market for potential skiers.

Swiss Tourism is also keen to reach other untapped markets like India, in a bid to improve tourism in Switzerland and lose their exclusive image, which they feel may make some people uncomfortable at their skiing resorts.  The new Swiss Tourism plan will promote inclusiveness and show that you don't have to be a skiier to enjoy a holiday in their resorts.
