Delta Air Lines will offer a new daily nonstop service to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport from San Francisco International Airport as well as increased service from Las Vegas McCarran International Airport and Los Angeles International Airport, beginning next year, according to a press release.

The new service is designed to provide customers access to the airline's growing trans-Atlantic and trans-Pacific network from the company's global gateway in Seattle.

"San Francisco, Las Vegas and Los Angeles are the three largest West Coast-to-Asia markets in the United States," Mike Medeiros, the vice president of Delta - Seattle, said. "Their addition into this local market will bolster domestic service as well as continue to help support our growing international portfolio in Seattle."

Seattle is one of the fastest-growing international gateways for Delta. The airline currently operates nonstop service to six international markets that include Amsterdam, Beijing, Osaka, Paris, Shanghai-Pudong and Tokyo. They have also recently announced service to London-Heathrow, Hong Kong and Seoul in 2014, pending government approval. These new flights will allow for convenient connections for passengers to all of Seattle's international Delta flights.

Beginning on January 1, 2014, all international Delta flights from Seattle will feature full flatbed seats in BusinessElite, Economy Comfort seating and entertainment on demand and all the seats throughout the aircraft.

The airline's service from San Francisco and Los Angeles will be operated by Delta Connection carrier Compass Airlines using two-class Embraer E-175s, with the exception of one daily flight from Los Angeles.  Delta will also be using SkyWest airlines to operate their Las Vegas-Seattle service using two-class Canadair CRJ-700s and CRJ-900s. These aircraft are both equipped with First Class and Economy Comfort seating and onboard Wi-Fi.

Delta has expanded its service to 38 peak-day departures from Seattle to 16 destinations, which include seven international destinations. The airline also has invested $14 million in its facilities at Seattle-Tacoma.
