Hertz Corporation, the world's largest general use airport car rental brand, announced on Monday that they are expanding their Dream Cars to introduce the Tesla Model S in the U.S., according to a press release.

The expansion allows consumers to rent the Tesla Model S, which is an all-electric car, as well as the Tesla Roadster. They also offer a variety of other high-end performance cars, such as Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Porsches and Mercedes Benz. They are all part of the Dream Cars line, which consists of ultra-high end performance vehicles.

"Customer and industry support for Hertz's Dream Cars has been overwhelming, so adding the Tesla Model S to the already outstanding fleet was an easy choice," Mark P. Frissora, the Chairman and CEO of Hertz, said. "The ability to offer a truly unique driving experience to Hertz customers is a thrill, and the addition of this vehicle shows the passion we have in offering the best and most diverse fleet to our customers."

The Tesla Model S will be available in California, at both San Francisco and Los Angeles airports.

Hertz Dream Cars expand the availability for consumers to enjoy an once-in-a-lifetime luxury travel experience, with offerings in 35 markets, including Los Angeles, Miami and Las Vegas.

The introduction of the new Tesla is part of Hertz's Living Journey, which is intended to focus on the integration of sustainability best practices into the company's operations. Living Journey focuses on smart mobility solutions, the environment, community outreach, as well as Hertz's overall commitment to corporate social responsibility.

The program helps Hertz's cars maintain 74 percent of their cars averaging over 28 mpg, as well as the Green Traveler Collection that features low emission and fuel efficient vehicles that average more than 48 mpg, as well as a range of Hybrids, Electric, CNG and other clean diesel vehicles.
