Holland America has a new around-the-world cruise for 2014 planned that will stop in 28 ports on five continents. The voyage is 113 days and can take up to 1,380 passengers Amsterdam ship.

USA Today reported that the trip will start on January 4, 2014 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and end in the same port on April 27, 2014.

"The ms Amsterdam is the third ship to bear the name of the Dutch capital in Holland America Line's over 135-year history. Built at the Fincantieri shipyard in Marghera, Italy, the ms Amsterdam blends the very latest in shipbuilding technology with the artistry, personalized touches and superior service that has made Holland America Line one of the highest-rated cruise lines in the world," says Holland America's website about the ship.

The ship will travel to Peru via the Panama Canal before going to tEaster Island. Then its off to Pitcairn Island, Australia, Papua New Guinea, Micronesia, the Phillippines, Hong Kong and other areas of Asia such as picturesque Phuket, Thailand.

"Beach after beach bejewels Phuket's fractal coastline. And what isn't beach is mainly mountainous jungle, town, or gothic cliff face. The Thai island sits on the Andaman side of the Malay Peninsula," says Holland America's website. "To swim in its cerulean waters is to risk reordering your life's priorities, with equanimity bumped to the top of your to-do list. Cruise visitors can take in the beaches along western Phuket, visit Phang Nga Bay and James Bond Island; plug into the energy of Patong town; or the feel calm of Phra Taew National Park. Prom Thep Cape, at the southern tip of the island, is the place to watch the sun drop into the Andaman Sea.

Further stops will explore Seychelles, Mauritus, South Africa, Namibia, Gambia, Senegal and more. Fares start at $19,999 per person based on a double occupancy. There are also shorter segments of the trip that start at $3,899 for per person for 20 days and go between Sydney and Hong Kong. A 37 day trip from Fort Lauderdale to Sydney starts at $6, 499 per person.
