Playboy announced that they would open their first club in India in the beach side town of Goa, but now they are seeing some hurdles. The Times of India reported that the opening is delayed and Goa's chief minister, Manohar Parrikar said that the club did not pass its application to open as a "beach shack."

Dnaindia.com reported that Parrikar said to the state Assembly,"The Playboy Club's application for setting up the facility in beach shack would be rejected as shack licences are usually given to individuals and not to the companies."

The club opening was announced in November of last year by PB Lifestyle which is an Indian franchisee. The club had plans to open along Candolim Beach first and then there were more plans of 120 clubs to follow around the country.

At the time, CNN Go reported that the bunnies would the outfits will be less revealing. PB Lifestyle will operate the franchise in India. Sanjay Gupta who is CEO of PB Lifestyle said according to CNN Go, "We are clear about one thing: There will absolutely be no nudity. The bunnies will be suited to Indian sensibilities and moral values."

Gupta said to The Daily Mail, "We are positioning it around lifestyle, aspiration and glamour," instead of nudity.

Gupta said to India West that they are redesigning the bunny costume to keep in line with Indian sensibilities and toning down the outfit for India, working closely with Playboy.

The Times of India reported that Hugh Hefner made the decision about the design of the space which was designed by Mohini Tadikonda who is based in the U.S. the designs were to have long drapes of chiffon on the bottom half with a satin bustier.

"India is a conservative society where kissing in public is considered taboo -- Playboy magazine and similar publications are banned throughout the country," reported CNN Go.

If the club does open it will be 2,043 square meters and CNN Go reported that it will be Playboy's first beach location for a club anywhere in the world.
