For Kevin Hart, a man who makes his money making us laugh by cracking jokes isn't laughing after being arrested for drunk driving in Los Angeles early Sunday, April 14.

The 32-year-old comedian. according to Associated Press, "was pulled over just before dawn on Highway 101 in Los Angeles after he was seen driving his black Mercedes erratically at more than 90 mph and nearly collided with a gas tanker, according to the AP. Hart failed a field sobriety test and was booked for misdemeanor DUI, but was released later that afternoon on $5,000 bond."

However, unlike denying that this incident occurred and involving public relations professionals to write up a cover-up statement, Hart, took to Twitter to do what his uncle told him to do--stand up for your actions and "say it with your chest."

"When the cop asked me to take the sobriety test I said 'WHY WASTE OUR TIME ... I'M DRUNK MAN.'" He later clarified: "This is a wake up call for me, I have to be smarter & last night I wasn't...drinking & driving is not a game or a laughing matter. People have lost lives because of stupid s--- [like] this!"

He later added, "everything happens for a reason."

As for Hart's career, according to Huffington Post, :he is on a hot streak, with "This Is The End" hitting theaters later this year, and with the news that legendary comedian Chris Rock has signed on to join him on as a cast member of BET's acclaimed reality show parody "The Real Husbands of Hollywood."

The father of two children, Heaven Leigh and Hendrix, from his seven-year marriage to fellow comedian Torrei Hart, which ended in divorce in February, 2010, also recently hosted "Saturday Night Live" and guest-starred on television's "Modern Family" and "Workaholics."
