Hoping that demands of cruising the sights and sounds of the Mediterranean will pick up in the coming year, UK-based Cunard Line announced expanding sailing options to the region upon its 2,092-passenger Queen Elizabeth.

According to a Cunard press release, "the Queen Elizabeth will offer a variety of seven,14 and 21-day itineraries in the Mediterranean with departures from Venice, Rome and Athens. The ship will visit 25 ports, seven of which will be new for the ship. Maiden calls include Kotor, Montenegro; Bodrum, Turkey; and Volos, Greece."

Booking options include a round trip, which the website states, "swaps the inconvenience of international airports for instant relaxation," or, a fly cruise, which, according to Daily Mail, "cuts to the chase by flying you straight to the area you will be cruising without wasting time on the 'boring' bit of the journey."

The line also unveiled its plans for their two other ships, the 2,620-passenger Queen Mary 2 and 2,014-passenger Queen Victoria.

"The Queen Mary 2 will sail 18 trans-Atlantic crossings between Southampton, England and New York in 2014, including two eight-night voyages that will include a stop in Halifax, Nova Scotia," reported USA Today.

Two of the ship's crossings-May 9 and 16-will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the ship with special events. This includes joining the Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria in New York on May 9 for a "three queens" celebration of the anniversary, according to USA Today.

As for the Queen Victoria, it will be situated in Southampton for the summer of 2014 and sail to the Norwegian Fjords, Baltic, Iceland, the Black Sea and Atlantic Isles.

The tickets will be made available on April 9th, with pricing and detailed itineraries to be released in the coming weeks.
