Seven siblings reported missing in California have been found unharmed, but abducted by their non-custodial biological father.

The children's mother, who is blind, had gone to the store with her husband on Saturday evening. The oldest child, 12 years old, was expected to look after the rest of the clan. But when the couple returned home, they found an empty house, Inquisitr reported.

The biological father was suspected from the outset, Fresno police spokesman Jaime Rios told Reuters. Because seven children were taken, it was likely that the children were somewhat compliant, because it would be difficult to abduct seven resisting children, Inquisitr reported.

However, the children may have been in some kind of danger -- although familial induction isn't regarded on the same level of severity as stranger abduction, often children involved in these situations are subject to abuse and danger, according to Inquisitr. Throughout the course of the investigation, though, police found no signs of forced entry, and didn't believe the children were in danger. They did not issue an Amber Alert, but did ask for the public's help in locating the father, the Associated Press reported.

Yang had been estranged from the family for three years, according to Rios, and investigators believe he lives in Sacramento.

The abducted children are: Chee Nou Yang, 12; Cha Meng Yang, 11; Zia Yang, 10; Chue Feng Yang, 8; Zang Yang, 7; Tria Yang, 6; and Tou Ger Yang, 5, according to the Associated Press.

Both Sacramento and Fresno police departments worked jointly on the case, Reuters reported.

This wasn't the only familial abduction case this week; in fact, one ended much more tragically. A familial abduction led to the deaths of two Connecticut boys and their grandmother's subsequent suicide, Inquisitr reported.
