It takes a lot of courage to go for a kiss. It involves even more when that kiss is being attempted on live television.

This occurred during the Dayton 500 on Sunday when Fox broadcaster Erin Andrews, in search for pole-winner Danica Patrick, encountered rapper 50 Cent instead who was determined to kiss her. 50 Cent leaned in for a kiss and not just any kiss, he wanted a lip-lock kiss--he attempted the kiss a few times with Andrews rejecting his approach.

She eventually allowed 50 Cent to kiss her on the cheek before continuing her search for Patrick, saying, "I have to go and search for Patrick now," stated Sporting News.

After the occurrence, the coverage went back to the studio hosts to continue their conversation about the race.

His attempt caused an uproar on the internet and brought Twitter to life.

"50 Cent getting all creepy on Erin Andrews. Well that was awkward," said one Twitter post.

However, the rapper wasn't apologizing afterward. "Hey, I wanted to kiss her, so I did," he tweeted

This isn't the first time a female broadcaster was approached for a kiss.  For many, the moment evoked memories of Joe Namath's very public and very rejected bid to kiss Suzy Kolber of ESPN in 2003, stated Huffington Post.

50 Cent was at Daytona to watch driver Mark Martin, who is reportedly a huge fan of hip-hop. The artist sat atop Martin's pit stall and watched the 54-year-old driver of the No. 55 car finish third.

Martin joked afterward that he and 50 Cent made a deal.

"We told 50 Cent if we won the race, he would have to change his game to 55 Cent for one day," Martin said. "I was trying really hard to get that name change for one day," according to Sporting News.
