It is no secret that the US Postal service needs money and fast, but their latest money-grabbing idea proofs just how desperate they are.

The Postal Service announced Tuesday that it has partnered with a Cleveland-based apparel company to launch a USPS clothing line, set to hit stores in early 2014, according to csmonitor.com.

The product line of apparel and accessories will be sold under the brand "Rain Heat & Snow," playing off the postal service motto "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stay these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds," according to a USPS press release, reported by csmonitor.com.

This agreement will put the Postal Service on the cutting edge of functional fashion," said Postal Service Corporate Licensing Manager Steven Mills in the release. "The main focus will be to produce Rain Heat & Snow apparel and accessories using technology to create 'smart apparel' - also known as wearable electronics," stated csmonitor.com.

Isaac Crawford, CEO of Wahconah Group, Inc. told ABC News that this is going to be an "image-conscious, first class, high end line."

Crawford said that there is a two sided phase to this "Rain Heat & Snow" all weather line.

"One side represents the legacy, the romanticism of the postal service, the idea  they started the same time that the country did."

He continues, "We are looking at carrying some of that forward but we are also trying to be innovative... We want to make it into something that everyone will be interested in today."

In 2012, the USPS suffered a $15.9 billion loss, according to ABC News, and, as a result, recently announced that they would be stopping Saturday service.
