Traveling is not like in the movies, but it is pretty close.

We compiled a list of travel movies to watch to inspire your wanderlust:

1. Aladdin (2019)

The scenes of the markets and streets of Agrabah are fascinating. The action takes place in the fictional city of Agrabah, but the good news is that this time, you can actually go and visit the beautiful setting.

While some of the scenes were filmed at Longcross Studios in Surrey, the bulk of the filming took place in Jordan's breathtaking Wadi Rum desert.

Wadi Rum boasts dramatic sandstone mountains, sweeping sand dunes and landscapes, and plenty of rocky caverns and features that already look like something out of a fairytale.

2. The Lizzie McGuire Movie (2003)

The quintessential early 2000s teen movie.

You can visit the Trevi Fountain where Lizzie and Gordo make wishes for the rest of their class trip, and the place that Lizzie spots Paolo for the first time, The Spanish Steps where Lizzie emerges after her makeover with Paolo's stylist, the Tivoli Gardens where Lizzie and Paolo rehearse for the International Video Music Awards and the Coliseum which is the site of the International Video Music Awards.

3. The Secret life of Walter Mitty (2013)

This is where Walter Mitty escapes real life by daydreaming an alternative life where he is the hero and travelling the world.

In the bicycle scene, it was shot in Grundarfjörður on the Snæfellsnes peninsula in the west of Iceland which will only take will only take you around two hours from Reykjavík by car. The helicopter scene was shot in Stykkishólmur, a town in the western part of Iceland where Walter does karaoke with a drunk man who is actually a helicopter pilot.

4. The Bucket List (2007)

Thia film reminds us that life is too short and we should enjoy it to the fullest.

France's Chevre d'or is a hotel that started out as a restaurant owned by Robert Wolf. It sits above the Mediterranean-giving a great natural view of the landscape-and still has a legendary restaurant.

They visited the Taj Mahal in India which was built by Shah Jahan over a 20-year period as a tomb for his favorite wife and is considered one of the seven wonders of the world modern.

You can cycle up to the wall of The Great Wall of China, but you cannot ride a motorcycle. It is series of fortifications built over more than 1,200 years to prevent attacks from barbarian nomads.

5. Lost in Translation (2003)

This film is the one that foreigners coming to Tokyo for the first time seem to most associate with the city. Lost in Translation is about two travelers visiting Tokyo, Bob an aging actor starring in commercials, while Charlotte is the bored wife of a photographer there on business.

Expats in their first year in Japan or family and friends visiting from abroad have a rite of passage: having drinks in the New York Bar. Epicureans who want to get a little extra bang for their buck would probably be better served hitting up the adjacent New York Grill during one of its weekend or holiday brunches.
