"The Magicians" was renewed for its third season. Apparently, the renewal news was made ahead of time since its season 2 finale will be airing on April 19. The series usually airs on Syfy network every Wednesday night at 9 PM. The network ordered the series with 13 new episodes for its upcoming season and it is expected to premiere by 2018.

This Universal Cable Production series was known for having strong ratings growth recently. From its debut airing to date, season 2 has nearly doubled the freshman run in any social engagements across the platforms. It has an average of 0.32 rating in the 18-49 demo and about 810,000 viewers as based on Nielsen live-plus same day numbers, Variety reported.

Basically, "The Magicians" series tells a story about Quentin Coldwater together with his group of 20 friends. They will enter the world where they can use their novice magic skills since they will explore the most dangerous yet enchanted dimension called the Fillory. The story is largely based on the bestselling novels of Lev Grossman as it featured these young magicians trying to practice their skills in order to save the existence of magic.

The series includes lots of stars like Jason Ralph, Stella Maeve, Olivia Taylor Dudley, Hale Appleman, Arjun Gupta, Summer Bishil, Rick Worthy and Jade Tailor. It is under the production of John McNamara, Sera Gamble, Chris Fisher, as well as with Groundswell Productions' Michael London and Janice Williams, Yahoo reported.

This critically acclaimed drama series still continues airing season 2 on Syfy until it hits finale. There are also promo videos for viewers to watch in order to have a preview of its ultimate Wednesday episode. Meanwhile, as of March, the Syfy network also made other series renewals that include "The Expanse" on its season 3 and "12 Monkeys" for its fourth and final season.
