The hard thing about a split is when the breaking parties are both working on the same show. This is the case of former couple Tarek El Moussa and his wife Christina who are reportedly not working on a new season of "Flip or Flop."

According to In Touch, there is no plan for the show to film season 8 which should have started already by this time. The same source revealed that Christina and her ex-husband and co-actor Tarek are filming at present. They are bound by their working contract to finish the episodes stipulated on the contract. The episodes are still included in season 7 and the exes will no longer return for season 8. This latest news has been carried by different sources including a reliable network insider.

Hollywood Life reported that the 33-year-old star has no plans to return to the show. But the show will have five spin-offs that will be filmed in other cities around the United States - Nashville, Atlanta, Chicago, Las Vegas, and Texas. This was revealed by HGTV and will be released sometime this year and will continue until next year.

"Flip or Flop" has been enjoying satisfactory ratings and the network seems hesitant to cancel the show. But since Christina and Tarek El Moussa can no longer work in unity for the show, it has to create spin-offs to benefit from the continuous patronage of the fans. Christina informed that the decision to drop the show was hers alone.

The couple's relationship did not end amicably, in fact, it was a nasty split. Reports of Tarek's uncontrollable anger and unacceptable treatment of his wife cause the split. But looking back in 2016, the couple had an altercation inside their home and led her husband to grab a handgun and went out of the house.

Christina and her friend suspected that Tarek might hurt himself, a 911 rescue was called. The incident was recorded in the Orange County Sheriff's Department. It involved several police and a helicopter in response to a call from a witness. Tarek was located at the Chino Hills State Park with a handgun but later went back home with the police. He informed that he brought the gun for protection against wild animals.

The couple announced their split in December but continued their professional working relationship on the show. The 35-year-old real estate agent filed for divorce the following month. They have moved on from their relationship and remained in touch for the sake of their children. Christina is currently dating contractor Gary Anderson. "Flip of Flip" season 7 is still running until the last episode is aired.
