Abby Lee Miller is facing legal problems, and so the future of "Dance Moms" Season 8 is a bit unclear. Miller announced on her Instagram account that she has quit, and will no longer appear on the show. However, it's not because of her legal battles. It is because she has been "disrespected" and "used" by the producers of the show, she said.

The fraud charges that Miller is facing could mean she will do jail time soon, and the show needs a new mentor, if it has to stay on air. According to Deadline, Cheryl Burke has been tapped as a guest choreographer. Burke is a professional dancer, and some say that she could replace Miller.

In the past, there have been guest choreographers in "Dance Moms" whenever Miller is unavailable, so this is not a new move. But now, considering that Miller has just resigned, the show needs a replacement. Miller could be facing 10 years in prison due to a lengthy fraud case. She recently slammed Lifetime because she said she has not received credits for "award winning routines, themes, and costuming" seen on the show.

The Hollywood Gossip said that the series has already been picked up for Season 8, and Lifetime is ready to move on without Miller. Entertainment Tonight said that this season will have four more episodes. There were talks that celebrity choreographer Laurieann Gibson was brought in as an emergency replacement and that Gibson filmed for three weeks.

On the fourth episode, Miller returned with a list of demands which allegedly includes nobody mentioning "jail" and Gibson not being allowed on set. A source said that Miller was "spiraling and making decisions that most people would think are not smart." Miller is a demanding teacher but she only tries to bring out the best in her students, and her tough persona is the reason why the show has a huge following.

Meanwhile, Burke is a good candidate to be Miller's replacement. The show and the network are yet to confirm if the report is true, or if Burke will just be a guest mentor in "Dance Moms" Season 8, or if she is going to be a regular. One thing is for sure, though - no matter how tough Miller is as a mentor, the show won't be the same without her.
