"Riverdale" has left the audience wondering who has been the reason behind the death of Jason Blossom. Ever since the show hit Netflix, many became interested with how the story went and how the last season ended. Many theories were created and one of the common speculations was that he was killed by a zombie.

The drama showrunner, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa tease that there is a great chance for the zombie fan theory to come to reality aside from the fact that it is widely believed by fans. Metro reported that .

In this spinoff from the Archie comics, the story focused on Jughead's pet dog which was killed by hit and run. He turned to his friends for help which was identified as Sabrina, the Teenage Witch who usually use forbidden magic to bring Hot Dog back to life.

However, the story will further show that he's no longer the same. He will be seen to bitten the Jughead and upon doing so the zombie plague starts to spread. This incident will make Archie, Betty, Veronica and the other gang to escape from the "Riverdale".

Therefore, this story further adds up to the speculations that there can be a possibility for the drama to introduce a zombie plot. The showrunner Aguirre also revealed that this was an idea that everyone from the production was being passionate about.

Further, as per Refinery 29, the showrunner also wanted a little more and might be switching on "Dawson's Creek" than the "Walking Dead". He added more that this zombie apocalypse now looks to be plausible.

Thus, whatever twists that they will be creating from season 2, the showrunner confirmed that it will be a total different from the previous one. This will be the first time for "Riverdale" to surprise its audience with a supernatural element.
