"Beauty and the Beast" actress Emma Watson recently shared her own views about the inclusion of the first gay character in the Disney film. She also shared her thoughts on why she choose the Disney role of Belle over the "La La Land" character Mia.

Watson just sat down among the reporters for an in-depth 40-minute interview and one of the conversations discussed was the first exclusively gay character included in the Disney movie. Apparently, Watson looked at it as a fantastic thing. It can be recalled that the gay role was of Josh Gad's character as LeFou, Huffington Post reported.

Accordingly, the film received some punitive comments about having a gay role in it. Some of which were coming from conservative religious groups and businesses who doesn't like LeFou being portrayed as gay. Watson also cautioned the audience not to expect too much, but she thought that the vagueness of the gay role is a whole lot of fun.

On the other hand, Watson was supposed to be one of the stars of the award-winning "La La Land" film together with Miles Teller. However, due to her commitment to portray the role of Belle, she chose the Disney Princess character over her character as Mia to "La La Land."

Mia was supposed to be the character she'll portray but it was given to Emma Stone who is also acclaimed as an Academy Awards Best Actress recently. Further, Watson seemed to have no regrets at all for choosing the feminist role in the Disney film, Bustle reported.

She is more committed to the role of Belle since for her it is a kind of project that she couldn't just step into. "Beauty and the Beast" will hit theaters on March 17 and it is one of the most highly-anticipated live-action Disney film.
