India has announced its "Life of Pi" advertising campaign to highlights India's beautiful scenery.

India's tourism ministry is looking to utilze the success of the film to bring more tourism to India. "Life of Pi" has been nominated for 11 Oscar Nominations with much of the movie, that was made from a popular book by Lee and Yann Martel , is set in Pudcherry and Munnar.

The Times of India said, "The campaign will include deployment of luxury buses between Chennai, Puducherry, and Kochi and Munnar. They will be branded with "Land of Pi" creatives like special "Land of Pi" tours and walking trails at the two destinations."

Two boats with stuffed tigers will also be set up in Pucherry.  "One location will be child-safe shallow water near Puducherry's Paradise Island and the other the soon-to-be-inaugurated Puducherry airport," reports The Hindu Business Line.

The film, directed by Ang Lee, is the about a teenage Indian boy who is on his way to America and ends up shipwrecked in the Pacific with only a Tiger.

Fox News reported that the campaign would include bus tours between Kochi and Puducherry and walking trails. There has also been a short films on tourist attractions in the areas featured in the film.

India's tourism officials will host giveaways in the theme of "Life of Pi" to increase interest in Puducherry and Munnar.

"Lee and Yann Martel, author of the book Life of Pi, which the movie is based on, have already received a special National Tourism Awards for helping to promote India with the film," reports Fox News.
