Episode 4 of "Reign" Season 4 continues with Mary Stuart (Adelaide Kane) having trust following the betrayal of one of her close advisors, while Lord Darnley (Will Kemp) pays her a visit. Meanwhile, Queen Elizabeth (Rachel Skarsten) is fighting to gain allies and get people on her side.

According to a report from CarterMatt, the synopsis for episode 4, which is entitled "Playing with Fire," will have Lord Darnley visiting Mary in Scotland, with the latter seeing something more than just a political union. But can Mary trust him?

The report said that with Mary slowly getting more power, there will be more people out to get her. So it's important for Mary to be careful with who she trusts, especially since episode 3 showed that one of her advisors leaked confidential information.

Lord Darnley has been described as a character that's out to win her heart. This could potentially be a big threat for Mary, so she better watch out for him. Their issue is also considered a big one as it can determine Mary's future.

Aside from Mary and Lord Darnley, the synopsis also mentions that Queen Elizabeth will be fighting to get allies in her favor. The report said that this shows the episode will be a political one, considering that the Queen is trying to regain her power and getting people to side with her.

Hidden Remote, via Fansided, reported that Queen Elizabeth already got Lord Narcisse to help her bring John Knox down in episode 3 of "Reign" Season 4. Unfortunately, her plan wasn't as successful as the one Mary did.

The report also adds that Gideon Blackburn will return, which will put Mary in a difficult spot of deciding between her own happiness or her love for the country. Check out the preview for episode 4 of "Reign" Season 4 in the video below.
