In the latest episode of AMC's zombie drama "The Walking Dead" fans spotted what appeared to be a mysterious object flying in the sky behind Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) when he discovered the junkyard where Jadis (Pollyanna McIntosh) and her group reside. Many fans were left speculating about what they say and took to Twitter to post that they thought what they had seen on the show was an airplane.

UK newspaper, The Express, tried contacting the UK broadcaster of the show to get some clarification on the reports, but a spokesperson for the broadcaster declined to give any comment. AMC has also yet to make any comments on the alleged gaffe that was spotted in the sky. With no official report given on whatever it was that was spotted flying behind Rick - either a plane, a bird, a helicopter, or even an UFO - fan speculation and the mystery only deepens.

If the object seen in the sky behind Rick were indeed an airplane, then it would prove to be a pretty big revelation considering the show takes place in a zombie apocalypse. According to the Independent, the backdrop behind Rick was achieved using green screen.

Since it would be highly unlikely for any other survivors to own a plane at this point of the zombie-apocalypse, there is a good possibility that the mystery object was simply a bird that happened to fly by. It also isn't a stretch to imagine a few birds flying by despite the entire world being primarily populated by the undead.

And fans should also not expect Negan to roll out an airplane from his arsenal in any future episode because it won't happen and quite frankly seems illogical with the way the season is going right now. For now, all we can do is speculate on whatever it was that many fans saw in the latest episode of "The Walking Dead."
